For the third consecutive year, Moderna took the stage in Austin, Texas at the South by Southwest (SXSW) conference among fellow changemakers at the forefront of innovation.

Kyle Holen, our Head of Development, Therapeutics and Oncology, moderated a powerful session titled, ‘Disrupting Cancer Care for the Whole Patient.’ The conversation featured Kris Carr, New York Times best-selling author, wellness coach and cancer thriver, and Brad Ludden, Founder of First Descents, a nonprofit that provides outdoor adventures to young adults impacted by cancer and serious health conditions.

This conversation offered a look into how cancer treatment requires a holistic, individualized approach, with each panelist sharing their unique perspectives on this necessity: Kyle through Moderna’s groundbreaking investigational individualized cancer therapeutics; Kris through wellness coaching and community building; and Brad through the healing power of nature and adventure. Watch the inspirational session to see the impact these approaches are having on cancer survivors and thrivers.

Additionally, Wade Davis, our VP of Computational Science, joined Heather Higgins, Partner, IBM Quantum Computing, in a fireside chat that explored the real-world applications of quantum computing and the exponential possibilities it creates.

The session, ‘Why We Should Be Talking About Quantum,’ dove into how AI and quantum are different yet complementary, and strategic partnerships, like the one between Moderna and IBM, are driving innovation at scale. Tune into the full session to learn more about the limitless potential of quantum computing.
