Ariba
What is the Ariba Network?

In general, the Ariba Network is a business-to-business network that provides tools, insights, and services to connect businesses to efficiently buy, sell, and interact.

At Moderna, we use the Ariba Network as a portal for PO transmission and invoice submission.

What if I already use Ariba?
If you are an existing supplier interested in setting up a new Ariba account, best practice is to do so via the “Process order” button embedded in your next Moderna purchase order email. This will allow you to create an account that automatically establishes a connection (or trading relationship) with Moderna over the Ariba Network. If your organization already has an ANID, the “Process order” button can be used to establish a trading relationship with your existing account.
Are suppliers required to sign up with Ariba?

Suppliers are not required to sign up with Ariba but it is strongly encouraged to allow for more robust collaboration and purchasing capabilities. Moderna supports both Enterprise and Standard accounts with Ariba.

The Standard Account is free and includes unlimited POs and invoicing.

What is an enterprise account? How do I get one?
Please review the information here to learn more about enterprise account.
Is there any charge for using Ariba?

Standard accounts are free and will allow you to transact with Moderna and other Ariba enabled customers without fees. This platform allows you to receive unlimited PO’s and submit invoices, as well as provide optional order confirmations and advance shipment notifications.

There is a fee associated with an Enterprise Account. Based on the volume of transactions you have on the Ariba Network (across all customer relationships) you may be eligible for fees. Any potential fees may be offset by the many benefits of the Ariba Network. To learn more please visit SAP Ariba Subscriptions and Pricing.

How much does it cost?
Ariba offers different account tiers depending on the needs of your business. You can find more information on Ariba account types here, using the Standard Account and Enterprise Account tabs. If you are connecting with Moderna using an “enterprise” account, we invite you to review Ariba’s fee information to set expectations on potential costs.
How can I add other users to an Ariba account?
Please review the step-by-step guide here.

Invoicing
If I am enrolled in the Ariba Network, do I have to invoice through the Network?
